My new life's journey

Well I can say I off to a rough start, but I am kicking hard. And by God's grace we will make it.

Well for starters, the day Tommy went home, my truck broke- timing chain and water pump. So I got these fixed. But today the truck started spraying oil. Ok, Now I really want/need a horse and buggy.  But wait there is more. The Social Security Office said Friday that I would not get any widow benefits until May(a whole month and the first on the month is this week.) I am a little rattled to say the least. But then this morning I went to the food bank, and saw a family getting paper goods(plastic bowls, and silverware) so they could feed their kids as their power was turned off last week.  My heart broke, here I was getting upset because of money and my truck, when I do have so so much to be thankful for. And the lady that runs the food bank talk to me a while. Thank you Lord for her. I had had my eyes on myself and not others and God. So I got a spanking from God today. She asked about this blog, and I told I had not been here in a while. She said people needed it.  So I am back and now you all will see me start this new journey, my new life. Let me tell you it's scary at times, as I do not do change will.  But I am holding tight to God's hand as he walks me through each moment and each day. I am very thankful for my food storage. And everything I learned to make it through the hard times.

Thank you all for your prayers and comments here, they are such a blessing to me and the girls. Thank you again.

Ok, now I am trying to sell the small truck and the beef bull. Rent, power, phone bills have to be paid this week. So if you all we say a little prayer that someone would buy these. I was going to put the bull in the freezer, but we still have 1 1/2 cows meat in freezer and there is now only 3 of us. So that is a year plus in meat.

Some of you have asked questions that I have not gotten to, but I will this week, ok.

Thank you all for reading my blog and may God bless you all.

Until in the morning,

Becky

Thank you for recipes and prayers

Thank you all for the recipes. Yes, I do have a crock pot. I have printed off the recipes you left and Tommielynn is getting to pick out which one’s she wants for dinner, which she loves. They all sound so good. Thank you again.
Yesterday and last night were bad for Tommy. I updated Caring Bridge last night and will update it nightly now. Tommielynn finally accepted the fact that her dad is dying. She broke down last night. We have told her everything, every step of the way. Please say a prayer for her.
Thank you all for your prayers as they get us from day to day. And all your wonderful comments really touch my heart. To know some many people care and are praying for us is a wonderful feeling. Thank you all again. May God bless you all to overflowing.
Very thankful and humbled,
Becky

Here are a couple easy and good recipes. I normally make the pie crust for the Chicken Pot Pie but the ones in the store freeze well and taste good. You could even use a can of chicken if you wanted to make it very easy. The Taco Skillet is easy enough for your daughter to make. My husband does not like casseroles but enjoys this one.
As I was reading your update on Tommy I thought of this U-Tube I saw this week and hoped it would encourage you.The Lord is ever-present and promises that His grace is enough. I am praying for you and your family.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C0r_FbARIn8&NR=1*~*~*

We are lifting Tommy, you, and your family up in prayer, Becky. May God comfort you all, strengthen you, and give you peace that passes all understanding. Wish we lived close enough that I could bring supper to you. Sending you lots of love and hugs.

Becky, I am praying for You,Tommy and Tommielynn. I agree with Stacie, I wish we lived close enough that I could bring you supper. God has blessed you with remarkable courage and strength. He has given you the knowledge and ability to not only take care of your family but to also teach us how to take care of our families. And you are doing this while you are dealing with your husband’s illness! May God give you and your family rest and comfort.God Bless!Jackie

A few days of blessings and photos

Our son, Raymond and his female friend, Faris, came up for a visit on Thursday.  They are on their way to Alaska for a 1 1/2 year stay.

These two are city, beach kids gone country for a day.Raymond and Faris (Our new farm hands)

Friday morning, we got a call saying, We could get hay out of the field for $3.00 a bale, and we could make payments on it. But we would have to get it that day as rain was coming in the next day. Now here is the Blessings: First, Raymond and Faris said them help me load it ( as Tommy was having a really hard time breathing and was hurting, there was no way he could loaded the hay), we loaded a 112 bales. It took us two trips to get it home. Tommy drove the truck around field, and even that was hard on him. Second: We have been paying $7.95 a bale, and we need a 100 bales to make it through this winter. We are still in a drought here, so we were not sure how to get the hay this year, or how to pay for it.  The Lord opened His window on us. So thank you, Raymond and Faris for your help, and saving us almost $500 on the hay. Below is some photos of us getting hay and these two city- beach kids helping us and blessing us:

Ok, girls this isn't heavy!

Loading Hay

Raymond and myself loading hay.

I found one with a cow in it , too.

Come on, Dad.

They both were really happy when I told them we didn't have to get the big rolls of hay, just the square bales.

Faris and myself

Look, I'm doing it.

She said," This is not so bad".

They both did such a wonderful job. Faris had not been on a farm before. She tried cows milk and butter, and really like it. I sent her some milk in a cooler for their trip.  She also said, "Haying was fun." That's a city-beach kid for you.  I am so thankful our winter hay is on the farm. The Lord poured His blessing out of us. Thank you, Lord. A friend on the blog is blessing us with homemade goat soap and shampoo, and sending yard. Thank you again my friend. May God bless you to over flowing.  Well, my haying muscles are calling for another hot shower. Just wanted to Thank Raymond, Faris, and my blog friend and mostly to thank the Lord.

God bless you all,

Becky
